Step Up is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth of their footwear business, with a strong focus on underfoot components—insoles and midsoles—combining technical expertise with business development. This role offers the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of R&D, OEM production, and commercial strategy, driving innovation in cushioning, shock absorption, and impact protection technologies, while building long-term partnerships with key brands and factories across Asia.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the footwear industry, with proven expertise in technical development, OEM setup, and business development. You will oversee the full development cycle of underfoot component solutions, working directly with certified OEMs and international brand customers. Strong sales skills, technical know-how, and the ability to manage relationships across brands, factories, and cross-functional teams are essential.

Key responsibilities include leading OEM and brand development projects, representing the company at factory meetings and brand visits in China and Vietnam, supporting the commercialization of technical footwear components, and providing valuable market insights to guide growth strategy. You will work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across sales, product, and marketing functions.

We are seeking a professional who is bilingual in English and Chinese, with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to combine technical know-how in underfoot technologies with commercial acumen, effectively bridging R&D, OEM production, and business development, and be comfortable with frequent travel across Asia.
